QC = Quality Check, meaning when a parcel arrives at domestic sorting center (meaning Seko warehouse), the warehouse would make sampling and unpacking inspection
Jumia highly regards product quality. Smart QC aims at assisting sellers to reduce return rate, create high-quality best-selling commodities, ensure the excellent reputation and continuous sales growth for Jumia and shops

1. Packaging (parcel packaging and product packaging)
2. Product (title, main image, brand, color, quantity, size, material, length, design, accessories, whether it’s counterfeit or not, etc.)
3. Prohibits (common prohibits, special circumstance: face mask/medical body temperature detector)
4. Small paper note (whether it contains seller’s personal information or not)
Once a parcel has QC fail, the system will immediately send an email to the seller’s registered email box, and the email will attach the parcel’s specific information: country, shop, order number, SKU as well as the comparison between real object image and webpage image. Sellers shall carefully check contents of such email.

When a product on sale is an accessory, the accessory itself shall be stressed on the main image, it’s not allowed to attach other strongly misleading reference object.
For example: the product on sale is headphone cover

While the main image includes headphone + headphone cover

When a product is randomly shipped, it’s necessary to add words like Multicolour or Colorful in the title, and fill Multicolour in Main color (if the Main color couldn’t be changed, please change the title).
If there are no such words, then use the first image of product as the default color.

Any product with variable sizes (especially with body height or age as variables) needs to attach Size Comparison Table (non-detail image of product) to enable buyers to tell the real size of product.

If there’s no added color in product title, QC inspection will emphasize on the proof color of main color.
Because the main color can’t be changed for the second time in the system, vendors must specify the color in title.
If the brand is not met, vendors may buy brand label and make brand labeling.
*Note: please don’t stick label of major international brands!
It’s not allowed to place paper slip with personal information in parcel, if finding such paper slip in parcel during inspection, the platform would not rule out the possibility of closing the shop.

Wrong demonstration: the packaging film is too thin and unable to be repeatedly used after QC.
Correct demonstration: use packaging film to guarantee the completeness of product.
1. The size of front-stage SKU doesn’t meet that of real object
- The size of order placed by consumer is 43, but the size of real product is 26.5, there’s error in size specifications, which would easily mislead consumers, so vendors shall make uploaded SKU consistent with the size specifications of products.
In the process of Smart QC, in order to avoid the problem of being unable to scan express sheet, please send forecast information to Seko’s email box before shipping.

When it’s unable to scan express sheet, there are 2 causes as follows:
- Selected designated warehouse A when printing express sheet, but delivered goods to designated warehouse B. Such circumstance is not allowed, and the goods need to be delivered to the designated warehouse.
- API operation mistake, some vendors selected wrong template of printed express sheet, so all the orders are unable to be printed. Jumia has clearly regulated the express sheet template for each country, vendor may click the shipping part to check out.
Mobile-phone-category products and electronic-category products (the categories with relatively high value) need to have plastic package or strip seal with manufacturer’s mark to deliver to Seko warehouse, if the warehouse inspects and finds no such strip seal or plastic package, they will be recognized as QC failed. (Note: plastic package and packaging film parcel are in different concepts, please don’t mix the two. Plastic package means the product itself, while packaging film means the outer layer wrapping the product)
Vendors shall check the list of contraband of each site, the following products are the products often found in warehouse inspection, vendors should note not to list or deliver such types of products.
a. Egypt site: sexy underwear, a parcel containing more than 5 non-smart watches, etc.
b. Morocco site: oral or dental products, etc.
c. Kenya site: sex toys, etc.
d. All sites: defense-related (self-protection arms, sharp) products, epidemic prevention products, etc.

V. QC result and reamedial measures
1. QC Fail of parcel will generate penalty of 10USD/product
2. Inspect causes based on email of QC Fail
i. Wrong products, missing parts, damage, packaging problem -> Timely deliver all the correct items contained in this tracking number to Dongguan SEKO warehouse within time leadtime(5 working days), to avoid OOS caused from passing time limit.
ii. Problems in SKU title/color/main image -> please timely correct SKU, ensure front-stage SKU contents to be updated, timely deliver all the correct items contained in this tracking number to Dongguan SEKO warehouse within time limit, to avoid OOS caused from passing time limit.
iii. Contraband (including face masks, thermometers) -> Please immediately delist SKU, withdraw the parcel and avoid shipping again.
